Graphite impregnated resin process is a technique commonly used to manufacture high performance carbon fiber composites. It forms a material with excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance by impregnating graphite fibers in a resin.
The graphite impregnation resin process utilizes the permeability of the resin and the electrical conductivity of the graphite fiber. First, the graphite fiber is prepared into the desired shape and the surface is treated to improve the binding force with the resin. The treated graphite fibers are then placed in a container containing a resin solution and the resin is fully permeated into the fibers by vacuum or pressure. Finally, the impregnated graphite fibers are cured to form the final composite material.
